Programmes
The School has been established as a centre of learning for advanced studies in the various areas of environmental science. The regular programmes offered by the School are M.Sc. and Ph.D. besides a few short term courses. i) M.Sc. Environment Science and Management
Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
Seats: 12
Eligibility: B.Sc. Degree in any of the optional subjects – Botany/ Zoology/ Chemistry/ Physics/ Life Science/ Environmental Science/ Environmental Management/ Geography/ Geology/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Plant or Animal Science/ Agriculture/ Fisheries/ Aquaculture/ Forestry/ Horticulture/ B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental or equivalent examination with not less than 55% marks in Part III.
Selection: Entrance Test (MGU CAT)
ii) M.Sc. Environment Science and Disaster Management
Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
Seats: 12
Eligibility: B.Sc. Degree in any subject with not less than 55% marks in Part III.
Selection: Entrance Test (MGU CAT)
iii) M.Sc. Applied Geology (2022 onwards)
Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
Seats: 10
Eligibility for Admission: B.Sc. Geology/B.Sc. Geology and Water Management with pass, not less than 50% marks in Part III or CGPA not less than 5 at 10 point scale or CGPA not less than 2.5 at 5 point scale.
Admission Criteria: Admission will be on the basis of a Rank List Prepared as per the score
obtained in the common admission test (80%) and Interview (20%).
Test Syllabus : Geology (B.Sc Level)
iv) M.Phil. in Environment Management (Discontinued from 2022 onwards)
Duration: 1 year (2 semesters)

Eligibility : Masters Degree in Botany/Zoology/Physics/Chemistry/Life Science/ Environment Sciences/ Environment Science and Management/ Ecology/ Geology/ Earth Sciences/ Geography/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Plant or Animal Science/ Fishery science/ Aquaculture/ Forestry/ Horticulture/ Disaster Management/ agriculture/Engineering with not less than 55% marks.
Selection: Qualifying mark+ Entrance Test + Interview
v) Ph.D. (Full time & Part time)
School offers Ph.D. Programme in: Environmental stress studies, Environmental Biology, Biodiversity and conservation biology, Biodiversity characterization, Aerobiology and allergy, Vegetation analysis through RS & GIS, Wetland biodiversity, Environmental chemistry, Environmental biotechnology and solid waste management, Aquatic microbiology, Microbial toxicology, Bioremediation, Climate change, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Geology, Disaster Management.
Eligibility: PG in any branch of science other than mathematics
Selection: NET/M.Phil. / Written Aptitude Test
SHORT-TERM COURSES
