About Us

The Dr. R. Satheesh Centre for Remote Sensing and GIS, under the School of Environmental Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, offers a DGCA-approved Small Class Drone Pilot Training Programme.

This hands-on training programme is delivered in technical partnership with Asia Softlab Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of the SG Group of Institutions, Malaysia, with an international footprint across Europe, Australia, and the Asia Pacific. this intensive, hands-on course combines strong theoretical foundations with practical flight training. Participants will gain the expertise to operate small-category drones and convert raw aerial data into meaningful, actionable insights for real-world applications (Course Brochure).

Programme Outline (Course Module).

DGCA approved Remote Pilot Certificate
Knowledge of rules and regulations associated with safe drone flying
Maintenance and assembling of drones
Drone Simulation and ground flying
Drone Flight Planning and Operations.

Who Can Apply?

Course is open to SSLC, +2, graduates and postgraduates from any academic discipline. Applicants must be Indian citizens (preferably holding a valid Indian passport) and between the ages of 18 and 60 years.

Working professionals and senior and middle level officials from corporate bodies, government departments, agencies, NGOs, local self-governments and researchers and academicians from universities, colleges and institutions can participate the training as sponsored candidates.

Duration and Periodicity

The duration of the course is 9 days comprising of theory, Simulation and ground flying

Fee Structure

The total course fee of the programme is Rs. 59,200/- which can be paid in 3 instalments.

The completely filled application form along with the proof of remittance of Registration fee in favour of Director, School of Environmental Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University by digital transfer (with Transaction Details; UTR/UPI Transaction Number & Date) should be mailed (registered/ speed post only) to the address “The Co-ordinator, Dr. R. Those who want to reserve their seats while applying itself should remit an amount of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only).
